  • Banks
  • A record label. Music industry pioneers are trying to create a way for artists to connect directly with their fans.
  • Government institutions
  • Healthcare institutions
  • Companies that handle sensitive data

These are just a handful of the places that might hire a blockchain architect. People are buzzing about the blockchain, new jobs are created every day.

How do You Get the Job?

Programmers and developers are eager to jump into blockchain technology jobs. Here are five tips to help you get started.

1. Know the Industry

Blockchain technology isn't static, industry standards change all of the time. It's up to you to keep up to date.

Browse Reddit and read what your peers are posting. Read old questions on Stack Exchange. Use GitHub.

Keep yourself sharp.

2. Specialize

The Satoshi Bitcoin software is written in the C++ programming language.

However, there are blockchain applications that span every type of technology, and it's only growing. It's way too much for a single individual to learn on their own.

The key to being valuable yourself is to specialize. Learn a specific technology, and learn it well.

You can throw a dart at a board that reads something like: Java, web technologies, CMS programming, Python, Lisp, Prolog, mobile development, well you get the idea.

Throw your dart and then spend the next six months diving deeply into the particular technology of your choice. Get a skill, and be able to demonstrate it.

3. Be visible

Beef up your online presence and go to as many in-person events as you can. Make it as easy as possible for employers to find you.

You should read websites geared toward programmers to help develop your skills, but you should also be willing to answer questions. Your GitHub or Stack Exchange profile can become part of your resume.

Go to local meetups and events targeted toward the blockchain or cryptocurrencies. You'll stay current on what's happening in the industry and you'll make valuable personal contacts.

4. Be Flexible

Blockchain technology is relatively new. Developers won't be able to rely on established protocol, they'll need to be comfortable coming up with their own solutions.

If you can't adapt quickly, it will be hard to flourish as a blockchain architect.

5. Be Interested

Competition is fierce. If you're not genuinely interested in blockchain technology, it'll be hard to find the motivation to keep working.

Your life doesn't need to revolve around programming, but will you need to commit to spending hours of your time honing your abilities.
